We hope that you will agree with
us that fire protection districts across the state need an organization
to go to when they have a problem or have questions to particular fire
protection districts.
The Missouri Association of Fire
Protection Districts is the fire district’s answer to the Missouri
Municipal League for Municipalities. How do we go about forming a
district? Who can we call about problems concerning annexation, TIFs or
rural water districts? How can we get a refund on taxes from fuel used
by district vehicles? How long do we have to keep a specific document
to conform to state law? These and many other questions are the reason
MAFPD was formed.
MAFPD is a unique organization whose
membership is made up of not just fire chiefs, but board members, as
well. Fire chiefs, board members and attorneys representing fire
districts across the state of Missouri attend meetings. The Association
holds a spring conference that is held annually at Tan-Tar-A the last
weekend in June. Next year’s conference will be held June 25-27, 2010.
June 25th will be an all Attorney Workshop. Watch our website for further information and how to register.
If you want to be a part of a
working organization, not just a social one, we invite you to join the
Missouri Association of Fire Protection Districts now.
Yours for the fire service,
Pat Feder, President Missouri Association of Fire Protection Districts
